Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brauninger McDaniel — known to audiences as Braunzie Gurl — discovered her voice and her instrument the same way many great Southern musicians do: in church. A self-taught pianist and vocalist, she spent her formative years immersed in gospel music, developing the soulful touch and emotional depth that would become the hallmark of her performances.

With over 20 years of performing experience, Braunzie Gurl has built a reputation as one of Nashville’s most versatile and captivating live performers. Her style is a smooth, soulful blend of jazz and soul with an occasional country twist — music that feels both timeless and deeply personal, perfectly suited for intimate venues and upscale settings where every note matters.

Her Nashville journey has taken her to some of the city’s most iconic stages — from the legendary B.B. King’s Blues Club to the Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville Nashville, and Valentines of Nashville — earning loyal audiences and critical recognition along the way.

In 2023 Braunzie Gurl signed with MC1 Nashville, with her music distributed through Sony Music Entertainment / The Orchard — bringing her original sound to audiences worldwide. Her Grammy-considered single “Little Lady”, recorded at Nashville’s renowned Rukkus Room Recording Studio, stands as a testament to the artistry she has honed over a lifetime of performance.
